Michael Jackson had always
stated his love of Disney and the theme parks and on July 24th, 1985
they annouced that the now biggest star in the world would be in the
starring role of new ride for there Disney Parks, a 3-D science-fiction
musical film, Captain EO.
The story was written by the Star Wars
man himself, George Lucas. Involving Michael Jackson,
the movie had to be something special and groundbreaking. The idea
they came up with was to create the movie using the latest 3 D technolgy
and give the watching audience the feeling of them actually being
in the space ship and enjoying the ride and journey of Captain EO
as if they were with him. Godfather director Francis Ford Coppola
was bought in to work on the screenplay and direct the movie.
Over a year later on September 12, 1986 at Disney World in Florida
Captain Eo premiered. A 17 minute musical space fantasy movie, the
most expensive per minute film ever produced with gross costs of the
film totalling U.S $30 million.
Actress Anjelica Huston played the key role of The Supreme Leader.
Michael perforemed 2 new songs in the movie "Another Part
Of Me" which later appeared on the "Bad album"
and "We Are Here To Change The World".
Captain EO was soon being shown at all 4 of Disney's Theme Parks Florida,
California, Japan and France. It proved a huge hit with audiences
for over 10 years. The movie ride was open for over 10 years at Disneyland,
offiially opened from September 18, 1986 and closing April 7th 1997.
The last version of the ride closed at Disneyland Paris on August
17th 1998, where it had been open since 1992.

Movie Plot
The movie starts with a narrated introduction:
"The Cosmos, a universe of good
and evil. Where a small group struggles to bring freedom to the countless
worlds of despair. A rag tag band lead by the infamous Captain Eo"
We are then introduced to the crew who
consists of Captain EO, Fuzzball who is a small flying furry creature,a
two headed alien space craft navigators Odee and Idee, a robot known
as Major Domo and a clumsy elephantine called Hooter. They are on
a mission for Commander Bog to deliver a gift to the alien Queen,
Supreme Leader with the aim of changing her from evil into a beautiful
peaceful woman as well as all those with her.
