Other Information:

Only very few in existence, only 26 discs were pressed and distributed to Sony executives, who were very impressed. However, when Sony realised that "Dangerous" was to be a double vinyl album, unwilling to delay the album's release even further by producing two picture discs, they dropped the idea altogether. Sony immediately withdrew all 26 copies for destruction.

However an unknown quantity were not retuned and are still in circulation. Michael Jackson fan magazine "Back and White" issue 3 estimated there were only 12 worldwide.

The story behind the Dangerous Picture Disc is almost as interesting as the disc itself. Long before Michael had finished recording the album, Sony decided that there would be a picture disc to accompany the standard vinyl, CD and cassette editions - as was the case with BAD and Thriller.

In the absence of Michael's tracks, they used just "any old master tape" that was at hand. This turned out to be Richard Clayderman's "Xmas Album" featuring songs such as "Silent Night" and "Jingle Bells".
